The Story Behind the Stamp on the Cover

We were eager to include an Israeli Stamp on the cover’s postcard as they are a beautiful historical part of Israeli culture. They represent a time and place.   But, two issues.  One, it turns out the flower stamps are most often used on Yom HaZikaron.  A beautiful thing in general, but a bit of a downer for a Fun Israeli Food Cookbook.  And Two, only stamps that are more than 50 yrs old are legal to re-use.

So, the winner?  The Orange.  And it goes beautifully with the incredible photo of Israeli Salad on the cover as well.

Reviewing stamp collections through the years, we selected some beautiful stamps… see some of them below.
